They are an important part of the team and they are required to adhere to BSC Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policies while working with us. Their duties can cross over different duties within the summer programme and they may be asked to participate in non-academic duties if the need arises. There is also some necessary paperwork to complete and weekly reports to write for students.

The Activity Welfare Leader (AWL) is responsible for planning, implementing and delivering a high-quality social programme of activities and excursions to Young Learner students studying with BSC Young Learners. AWL’s are required to motivate and encourage students to fully participate in the programme and to ensure the safety of students remains paramount at all times. They are required to adhere to BSC Rules and follow all BSC safeguarding policies. AWL’s are also required to adopt welfare duties, which means they need to provide support, guidance and assistance to students, coordinating welfare-related activities and working closely with other team members to create a positive and nurturing environment.

The Welfare & Accommodation Officer (WAO) is responsible for leading the Activity Welfare Leaders and ensuring pastoral care for every student is of high standard. The WAO is a main support of the Welfare & Accommodation Manager (WAM) to ensure that all BSC YL safeguarding provisions are followed. The Welfare Officer plays a key role in ensuring students experience a safe and enjoyable stay at our Young Learners Centres. They also help guide and advise the Activity Welfare Leaders on the ground and reports directly to the WAM for any additional support.

Overview of the Position:

The Activity Welfare Leader (AWL) is responsible for planning, implementing and delivering a high-quality social programme of activities and excursions to Young Learner students studying with BSC Young Learners. AWL’s are required to motivate and encourage students to fully participate in the programme and to ensure the safety of students remains paramount at all times. They are required to adhere to BSC Rules and follow all BSC safeguarding policies. AWL’s are also required to adopt welfare duties, which means they need to provide support, guidance and assistance to students, coordinating welfare-related activities and working closely with other team members to create a positive and nurturing environment.

Hello, my name is Fatemeh, and I am the Global Director of People and Performance at BSC Education.

My role is to oversee BSC’s end-to-end people strategy, ensuring that everything we do supports both our employees and the wider business. This includes areas such as recruitment, pay and benefits, employee engagement, learning and development, and overall employee experience, both in the UK and internationally.

I have over 10 years of generalist Human Resources experience, working across a wide range of people-related matters. I am passionate about creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace where everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to grow and succeed.

Hello, my name is Rhian, and I am the Senior People & Payroll Advisor at BSC Education. 

Within my role, I am responsible for providing HR generalist expert advice and support, alongside managing end to end payroll processing. I support The People Team and wider business to achieve our strategic objectives involving key areas such as recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, project works, employee relations, culture and engagement.

People Administrator

Hello, my name is Arianna, and I am the People Administrator at BSC Education. 

My role involves supporting HR procedures and policies, and ensuring best practice is followed. On a day-to-day basis, I assist the People Team with recruitment processes, manage onboarding and off boarding for our team members, and support with payroll.  

I have over 10 years’ experience in sales and customer service, working across worldwide markets. While I am quite new to the Human Resources field, my career journey has equipped me to support international working environments and people-related matters. Supporting our team members and their satisfaction is a key priority for me. I genuinely enjoy proving good customer service and greatly value feedback.
