Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT)
The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is a series of modular teaching qualifications that test your understanding of key concepts in English language teaching.
At BSC Manchester we offer the following TKT modules:
• Module 1 – Language and background to language learning and teaching
• Module 2 – Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching
• Module 3 – Managing the teaching and learning process
• TKT: Young Learners
• TKT: CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning)

DELTA Module 1
DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is an advanced teaching qualification from Cambridge Assessment English.
Module 1 focuses on theoretical knowledge of language teaching and learning, including methodology, classroom management and language analysis.
BSC Manchester offers the DELTA Module 1 exam, allowing candidates to sit the assessment at our exam centre.
Please note that we offer the exam only, not a preparation course.

Who can take these exams?
DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
The Cambridge Assessment DELTA is an advanced qualification designed for experienced English language teachers who wish to further develop their careers and deepen their understanding of teaching and learning processes.
Candidates are required to have a minimum of one year’s teaching experience; however, most candidates have at least three years of post-CELTA teaching experience. DELTA is ideal for teachers aiming for senior roles, such as academic management, teacher training, or teaching positions that require a Level 7 qualification.
TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test)
The Cambridge Assessment TKT exams, are entry-level qualifications for teachers of English or those planning a career in English language teaching.
Modules 1–3 are suitable for candidates who may be considering taking a CELTA course in the future. The TKT Young Learners and TKT CLIL are designed for teachers who wish to focus on teaching English in primary education.
Do I need to take a course before sitting the exam?
No. You can register to sit the exam without taking a preparation course.
Some candidates choose to prepare independently or through external training providers before taking the exam.
