Christmas Markets in Edinburgh

Edinburgh Christmas Market

 

A short walk from our BSC Edinburgh school lies a fanfare of festivities. This popular Christmas Market in Scotland has rides (fairground attractions), an ice rink and market stalls offering mulled wine, traditional foods and seasonal treats. Lose yourself in the Christmas Tree Maze with the beautiful Edinburgh Castle overlooking above.  Edinburgh’s Christmas Market is open from 15 November 2025 – 4 January 2026 so there is plenty of time to visit!

Experience Christmas in the capital at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland. Notably the largest Christmas Market on our list, we recommend spending a whole day at Winter Wonderland so you can explore the entire space. With so many attractions to see we recommend paying a visit to the Bavarian Village, Thor’s Tipi Bar and the many Christmas Market stalls. Open from 14 November 2025 – 1 January 2026.

If you want a quintessentially British festive experience, York’s Christmas Market, St Nicholas Fair, showcases the very best of Yorkshire produce at the Made in Yorkshire Yuletide Village. Celebrate local crafters and makers and pick up a handmade Christmas gift before enjoying some roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. Make sure to plan your visit soon, as it’s only open from 13 November  – 21 December 2025.

 

Christmas Markets in Brighton

Brighton Christmas Festival is a great opportunity to browse a range of different stalls offering unique, handmade gifts. The Makers Fair is held leading up to Christmas and is a favourite among locals. You can also find a magical ice rink outside Brighton Pavilion that’s perfect to spend an evening at. The new Brighton Winter Fayre runs during November and December and is great entertainment for the whole family.

 

Christmas Markets in Manchester

Celebrate a cosmopolitan Christmas at one of Manchester’s Christmas Markets. With lots of different market sites across the city, hosting over 300 market stalls, they are a great way to get into the festive spirit. Manchester’s Christmas Markets are especially known for the range of tasty international foods, including Hungarian goulash, Spanish paella, traditional Bratwurst and even an old-fashioned hog roast. 2025 dates are to be confirmed.
